Incursions by Occupation Forces and Settlers in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem
SadaNews - Attacks by occupation forces and settler gangs continued in various areas of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
A child and a young man were injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire this evening, Tuesday, during their incursion into the town of Qabatia south of Jenin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its crews dealt with the injury of a 15-year-old boy from live bullets in the chest and a young man from gunfire in the foot, and both were transferred to the hospital.
Occupation forces had stormed the town with multiple military vehicles from several entrances, stationed near the town's roundabout, conducted foot patrols in its streets, launched a drone in its sky, and raided one of the houses, with no reports of arrests.
Local sources reported that clashes erupted between occupation soldiers and unarmed citizens, during which soldiers fired live and rubber-coated metal bullets, resulting in injuries to the child and the young man.
Meanwhile, other forces detained three young men and seized their vehicle at a military checkpoint set up at the Qubur Hulwa bridge near the village of Dar Salah east of Bethlehem.
Local sources indicated that the occupation forces stationed at the flying military checkpoint detained three young men, all ex-prisoners from Nablus, namely: Imad Abdul Halim Abu Muslim, Ola Muhammad Jumaa, and Samer Nidal Isa, seized their vehicle, and took them to a military base in the area of Ash Gharab east of Beit Sahour where they were interrogated before being released, while the vehicle remained in custody.
It is noteworthy that occupation forces had arrested a young man hours earlier at the same location without disclosing his identity.
Occupation forces also stormed the town of Al-Khadr south of Bethlehem, stationed in the areas of the gate, Sabri, and around the Grand Mosque inside the town, with no reports of arrests.
Meanwhile, other forces detained a child from the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan west of Salfit province.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces detained 14-year-old Ahmed Mun'im Aasi while he was inside a commercial store in the town, and took him to custody at the town's entrance.
A force from the occupation stormed the Surah Marhaba neighborhood, amidst the firing of tear gas canisters at citizens' homes, resulting in suffocation injuries, with no reports of arrests or raids.
Meanwhile, settlers bulldozed areas of citizens' land in the town of Beit Oula west of Hebron and set up a tent there, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
Local sources reported that settlers began razing lands in the "Tawass" area west of the town before they pitched a tent at the site, in a move aimed at seizing the land for the sake of colonial expansion.
Citizens in Beit Oula and areas west of Hebron are subjected to repeated attacks by settlers, including land razing, uprooting trees, and preventing their owners from accessing them.
Meanwhile, settlers renewed their attacks inside the village of Shalla Al-Auja north of Jericho, provocatively moving between citizens' homes, raising fears of a new escalation in assaults targeting the Palestinian presence in the area.
Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of the Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, stated that settlers deliberately bring their herds into agricultural lands and areas close to citizens' homes, causing damage to properties and sources of livelihood, in addition to the constant feeling of insecurity.
He affirmed that these practices are part of a systematic policy aimed at tightening the screws on citizens and pushing them to flee, calling on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to protect Bedouin and agricultural communities in the valleys from the danger of forced displacement.
In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces arrested a Palestinian young man after brutally beating him at the Hizma military checkpoint northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that occupation soldiers stopped a vehicle in which the young man was riding at the checkpoint, forced him to get out, and then beat him brutally with their hands and batons, resulting in injuries and contusions all over his body.
Sources added that the occupation soldiers tied the young man after assaulting him and transferred him via a military vehicle to an unknown location, amidst the temporary closure of the checkpoint and preventing citizens from passing or filming the incident.
Occupation forces deliberately intensify their repressive measures against citizens at the checkpoints surrounding Jerusalem through field arrests and maltreatment, as part of a systematic policy to tighten restrictions on the movement of Palestinians and terrorize them on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, occupation authorities forced citizen Sobhiya Shaqirat to demolish her own home in the Jabal Mukaber neighborhood southeast of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Local sources indicated that Shaqirat was compelled to demolish her home to avoid paying hefty fines and demolition costs to the occupation municipality, after receiving an administrative order granting her a few days to carry out the demolition.
The house is approximately 55 square meters, has been standing for more than 12 years, and was home to a family of five.
Occupation authorities continue the policy of self-demolition against Jerusalemites as part of the demographic and displacement pressure aimed at emptying the city of its Palestinian population to benefit colonial expansion.
