SadaNews - Palestinian Vice President Hussein Sheikh met today, Tuesday, with US Ambassador Mike Huckabee in his office in Ramallah.
According to "SadaNews," Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa also met with Huckabee.
Sheikh and Mustafa discussed the situations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in separate meetings with the US ambassador, including the humanitarian conditions in the sector, the economic situation, and the crises faced by the Authority financially due to Israeli punitive measures.
Sources told "SadaNews" that Huckabee will also meet with Palestinian businessmen in Ramallah in the coming days.
With Sheikh and Mustafa's meeting with Huckabee, this marks the first meeting of Palestinian officials with the US ambassador to Israel, representing the Donald Trump administration.
Huckabee is known for his positions that support the far-right in Israel, and he has made two consecutive visits to Palestinian villages near Ramallah for the first time since taking office.
In a tweet on the "X" platform, Sheikh stated that he discussed supporting efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, secure the release of hostages, and deliver urgent aid to the Palestinian people there.
He noted that the current situation in the West Bank was also addressed, including the severe economic and financial crisis and settler violence.
He pointed out that they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and the importance of the American role in achieving stability, security, and peace in the region.
