
Israeli Media: Hamas Delays Response to Proposal Presented to It
SadaNews - Israeli media outlets claimed on Monday evening that Hamas is hesitating and delaying its response to the proposals presented to it by mediators regarding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Hebrew channel Reshet Kan quoted an Israeli official as saying that Israel is not willing to concede further on the withdrawal maps presented to it, and that Hamas must accept them to lead to a ceasefire and end the suffering of Gaza's residents.
According to the channel, the mediators are trying to pressure Hamas to respond to the latest proposal, but to no avail, noting that Israel is also applying military pressure and taking field actions aimed at making progress in the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on its website that Israel and the mediators are still waiting for Hamas's response to the latest mediation proposal.
The site quoted Israeli sources involved in the negotiations as saying that Hamas is hesitating and trying to maximize its conditions, which complicates the situation and prevents any breakthroughs, adding: "The negotiations are going badly, and we have no tangible progress."
According to the Hebrew site, the U.S. administration is starting to run out of patience with Hamas and its positions, feeling frustrated at the lack of real progress.
