SadaNews - The head of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has arrived in Khartoum, landing at Khartoum Airport for the first time since the outbreak of war.
Following his arrival on Saturday, Burhan headed to the General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces for an unexpected field visit, during which he toured the military headquarters and met with Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Osman Al-Hussein, and several senior military leaders.
During the meeting, Burhan received a detailed briefing on the security situation in the country and the ongoing military operations under what is known as the National Dignity War.
Burhan's visit to Khartoum comes at a sensitive time, amid noticeable advances in several fronts of the capital and reports of redeployment and reinforcement of control over strategic sites.
Analysts believe that the landing of the presidential plane at Khartoum Airport carries strong symbolic significance, indicating improved security conditions and a recovery of initiative, potentially paving the way for a restructuring of the political and military landscape in the capital.
