Slovenia Prevents Two Israeli Ministers from Entering Its Territory
SadaNews - The Slovenian government announced on Thursday measures to prevent two far-right Israeli ministers from entering its territory, in an unprecedented step within the European Union.
A statement noted that Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, both key members of the government coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu, will be declared "unwelcome" due to their "statements calling for extermination, which encourage extreme violence and serious violations of the human rights of Palestinians."
Slovenia is considered the first country in the European Union to take such a decision.
This comes just one day after the International Criminal Court's decision to reject the suspension of arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, the decision follows days after the European Union's foreign ministers' council failed to reach a decision regarding the imposition of sanctions on Israel due to the situation in Gaza.
