Netanyahu: We Will Not Allow Any Syrian Forces in the South of the Country
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed this Thursday evening his government's policies regarding the situation in Syria, by keeping the southern region of the country demilitarized and protecting the Druze.
Netanyahu indicated in a video clip published on his social media pages that after the Syrian forces entered the south of the country, he instructed to attack them, along with targets in Damascus.
Netanyahu said, as translated by SadaNews, "We did not accept this in any way, and we acted immediately, and we attacked those gangs and other targets."
He added: "As a result of this intensive activity, a ceasefire was imposed, and the Syrian forces withdrew to Damascus; this was achieved through force, not through begging. We achieve peace through strength, and we restore calm through strength, and security through strength, all on seven fronts.”
He continued: “We will maintain our policy and will not allow the new regime forces to reach areas south of Damascus, especially the Druze areas, and we will continue our operations as needed.”
