Jordanian Foreign Ministry Warns of the Occupation Resuming the Settler Project "E1" East of Jerusalem
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has warned against the resumption of the Israeli occupation of the colonial project "E1", which aims to build more than 3,000 new colonial units east of occupied Jerusalem.
It considered this to be a flagrant violation of international law and a clear undermining of the two-state solution and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ministry affirmed in a statement by its official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, the kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of any Israeli attempts to impose its control over the West Bank, separating its northern part from the southern part in a blatant violation of international law and the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, particularly Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic composition and the character and status of the Palestinian land occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem. This also includes the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation and the nullity of the settlement constructions and the annexation actions in the West Bank.
Qudah warned against the circulating media reports regarding the transfer of the powers of managing the Ibrahimi Mosque and overseeing it by colonial entities, which reflects the continuation of the Israeli unilateral policies that violate international law and relevant UN resolutions, in an attempt to seize the Ibrahimi Mosque in its entirety and change its Islamic and Arab identity.
Qudah reiterated the assertion that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian land, and that all its measures in the West Bank are unlawful and illegal.
He called on the international community to bear its legal and moral responsibilities, and to compel Israel and its extremist government to stop its aggression against Gaza immediately and its dangerous escalation and its illegal expansionist measures in the occupied West Bank, and to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and meet their legitimate rights in establishing their independent state on their national soil, and to stop the crimes against them and hold the perpetrators accountable.
