Prime Minister: Intensive Communications and Efforts to Recover Our Funds to Ensure the Continuation of State Institutions' Work
SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa emphasized in the weekly government session today, Tuesday, the necessity of intensifying international pressure to stop the ongoing aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and to end the suffering of hundreds of thousands of the hungry by ensuring the timely and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to limit the spread of famine in the region.
Mustafa confirmed that preparations are in full swing to ensure the success of the "Two-State Solution" conference scheduled to be held in New York at the end of this month, in coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France, and various brotherly and friendly countries, to ensure a unified effort to revive a binding political path, based on ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state.
At the beginning of his weekly session today, the Prime Minister clarified that Palestinian political communications and movements are ongoing with various entities to push towards stopping the assaults of the terrorist settler gangs and recovering our withheld funds; this is of vital importance for enabling state institutions to continue to perform their duties towards citizens.
In this context, and as part of the series of measures taken by the government to alleviate the burdens on public sector employees amid difficult field and financial circumstances, the council directed heads of government departments to follow up on arranging employee working hours, taking into account the prevailing conditions and the specific nature of each department, and ensuring that productivity and the workflow are not affected, while providing the required services without disrupting services to citizens.
The council also listened to the preparations of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for holding the general secondary examination for students in the Gaza Strip, which will start next Saturday.
As part of the government's initiative to localize medical services and reduce deductions from clearance funds, the council approved the criteria for organizing medical referrals to hospitals in the interior, limiting them to "life-saving" cases, under specific criteria overseen by a special committee, in addition to studying cases that necessitate referral to brotherly countries in case treatment is not available in Palestinian hospitals.
In a related context, the Cabinet approved the purchase of additional quantities of specific types of medicine to meet the increasing needs of patients from our people.
The council also approved the settlement agreement with the Southern Hebron Electricity Company and the financial rights that have been pending for many years, which includes scheduling the debt file and committing to pay the monthly consumption bill. Thus, the government has completed the governance of the work of the five major electricity companies, while settlement operations continue with the municipalities that are the most indebted, especially after completing settlements with about 90 local authorities so far, which will enhance the efficiency of the services of these authorities and improve their classification and ability to obtain more developmental projects.
The council also approved, in the final reading, the draft regulation to determine the value of financial fees regarding intangible heritage.
It also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Central Bureau of Statistics and Save the Children International regarding cooperation to implement activities in the field of child statistics indicators.
