Rajab: We deny the claims made in Al-Jazeera's report regarding the Palestinian Authority's support for military formations operating in Gaza

SadaNews - The Palestinian security institution stated that it has followed the report published by Al-Jazeera, which contained malicious and fabricated claims, part of which relies on known Israeli sources hostile to the Palestinian people and their national project, and another part crafted by its editors, who unleashed their sick imagination in weaving and fabricating lies and misleading news. Through this, Al-Jazeera practices its usual and systematic policies aimed at undermining the internal front and distorting the image of our national struggle, promoting a discourse and vision that has brought our people nothing but death, destruction, displacement, hunger, division, and discord.

The official spokesperson for the Palestinian security forces, Major General Anwar Rajab, said: Al-Jazeera deliberately and willfully ignored mentioning the entity that provided the fertile environment and climate for the emergence of such military formations and other social maladies. It forgot that this entity stood alone in the trench of occupation when it refused, and continues to refuse, to empower the national authority and its security apparatuses to operate in the Gaza Strip. At a time when the occupation forces tighten the noose around the Palestinian Authority and its security apparatuses in the West Bank, preventing them from carrying out their security and national duties and continuing to undermine their political status, Al-Jazeera unleashes its lies and slanders in defense of a group of mercenaries and agents, attempting to dress them in the attire of resistance, forgetting that the reality of these individuals has become as clear as the sun to our people after they brought destruction and ruin to the camps in the West Bank and facilitated for the occupation their mission to implement its plans. After completing their task, they returned to their natural place and surrendered to the occupying army, and all of Al-Jazeera's attempts and its false, misleading reports and news went to the winds.     

In this context, the security institution confirms that it is conducting its activities in the Gaza Strip by all available means through its legitimate apparatuses and branches, its officers and personnel, and that it works and will continue to do whatever is necessary to alleviate the suffering of our people and assist our compatriots in the Gaza Strip on all fronts and levels to the best of its ability, regardless of the occupation or Hamas's rejection of our role.

The Palestinian security institution also confirms that it does not deal with or grant legitimacy to any military formations operating in the Gaza Strip, and that it works only within the framework of instructions from the political and security leadership, in carrying out its national, moral, and humanitarian duties, and it will never be in any square that intersects with the occupation and its crimes and policies, as is the case for those whom Al-Jazeera promotes.
