
Citizens Appeal to the Palestinian Government to Intervene Regarding Their Return Mechanism from Jordan, and a Jordanian MP Confirms It Causes Hardship for Travelers
SadaNews - Citizens have appealed to Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and Interior Minister Ziad Hab Al-Reeh to intervene regarding travel across the King Hussein Bridge.
Citizens complained about the poor management of the reservation system through the online platform for obtaining travel tickets for those returning from Jordan to the West Bank via the bridge.
Citizens accused certain parties of operating as intermediaries with corruption and canceling the travel rights of others in favor of those who pay more, noting that these tickets have begun to sell at prices exceeding 50 and 70 Jordanian dinars, according to reports from SadaNews correspondent.
In turn, Jordanian MP Mohammad Al-Zahrawi stated that the current method used by the Jordanian authorities to organize traffic on the King Hussein Bridge is insufficient, adding that it has caused great hardship for citizens.
He continued in a post on his official Facebook page, "Many who work in private offices are exploiting people's needs, and illegal practices in selling tickets have emerged, with prices starting from (3) dinars and reaching (50) dinars, creating a kind of 'mafia' that controls the movement of travelers, especially those with limited incomes."
Al-Zahrawi demanded that the Jordanian Prime Minister conduct a field visit to the King Hussein Bridge to witness the daily abuses and exploitation that citizens endure.
