American Newspaper: Netanyahu Informed Trump He Will Attack Iran Again If Necessary
SadaNews - The American newspaper Wall Street Journal reported last night that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed U.S. President Donald Trump during their meeting at the White House this week that Israel would attack Iran again if the latter developed nuclear weapons once more.
According to the report, citing senior American and Israeli officials, Trump responded to Netanyahu by stating that he prefers a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, but did not express any objection beyond that.
According to the newspaper, Trump hopes that the threat of further strikes will pressure Tehran into reaching an agreement that prevents it from developing nuclear weapons.
It pointed out that Israel is skeptical about the ability of a diplomatic agreement to prevent Iran from secretly advancing towards possessing nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu returned yesterday from Washington at the conclusion of a four-day visit during which he met Trump twice.
Sources in Netanyahu's office stated that all the goals he set for this visit were achieved.
