Occupation extends detention of journalist Nasser Al-Lahham until next Sunday
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation court in Ofer prison has extended the detention of journalist Nasser Al-Lahham until next Sunday, claiming to complete the investigation.
It is noteworthy that the occupation arrested journalist Al-Lahham on July 7th from his home.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated that the occupation continues to escalate its campaign against journalists, targeting them in an unprecedented manner since the onset of the ongoing genocide, with the number of journalists who have been arrested or detained reaching 193 since the outbreak of the genocide, of whom 50 remain in detention to this day, including journalist Al-Lahham.
It pointed out that most of them face "charges" related to what the occupation claims is "incitement" via social media and media outlets, while others are held administratively under the pretext of having a "secret file".
It also highlighted that the occupation classifies Gaza journalists as "illegal combatants," two of whom are under enforced disappearance since the start of the genocide.
