The Health Professions Unions Federation Announces Continued Reduction of Working Hours in All Ministry of Health Facilities
SadaNews - The Health Professions Unions Federation announced the continuation of reduced working hours in all facilities of the Ministry of Health, in protest against the government's indifference towards workers in the health sector, as it has not provided any realistic solutions or support to enhance the resilience of employees in the face of the Israeli financial siege that threatens their livelihoods and stability.
The federation added in a statement this evening, "The reduction of working hours in healthcare will last for 3 days, while in hospitals and the rest of the Ministry of Health facilities, as well as for the staff of allied medical professions in all bodies and ministries, the reduction will be only for 2 days."
It clarified that the reduction includes all personnel in allied medical professions, including managers and contract employees, except for those who receive their full salaries and have no financial entitlements.
The federation held the government fully responsible for the repercussions of this crisis and for the deterioration of medical services provided to citizens.
It also called on the government to assume its national and moral responsibilities towards its employees and to immediately work on disbursing salaries regularly without procrastination or delay, and to provide supportive incentives for the resilience of workers in light of the current economic and financial situation, as well as to open serious and responsible dialogue with the unions to find a way out of this crisis that preserves the dignity and rights of employees.
It emphasized that the policy of deliberate neglect, non-payment of salaries, and disregard for the health and humanitarian demands of employees defines this phase.
