Protests in Tripoli Call for the Ouster of Dbeibah's Government
SadaNews - Several streets in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, witnessed demonstrations on the night between Friday and Saturday, demanding the ouster of Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.
Protesters gathered in various locations across the city, including Souq al-Jumaa and Algeria Square.
Meanwhile, others blocked main roads in areas such as Ghout al-Shal and the coastal road in the city of Zawiya.
These protests come hours after the announcement of the death of civil activist Abdul Moneim al-Marimi, who succumbed to injuries sustained after being abducted earlier in the city of Sorman.
The movement to oust the interim government accused Dbeibah and internal security of being responsible for al-Marimi's death, demanding an urgent and impartial investigation.
A youth from the movement stated that the official narrative regarding his fall does not align with the medical report indicating that the death resulted from a blow to the head.
The spokesperson questioned why surveillance footage that reportedly captured the moment of the fall has not been released, considering the intentional blackouts as evidence of a premeditated murder.
The movement called for an urgent and transparent investigation under the supervision of neutral entities to hold the responsible parties accountable and reveal the truth to the Libyan people.
