United Nations: 613 Palestinians Killed Near Aid Convoys Managed by an American Organization in Gaza
SadaNews - The United Nations Human Rights Commission has reported the deaths of 613 people in Gaza near humanitarian aid convoys and distribution centers managed by an American organization supported by Israel, since it began its operations in late May.
The commission's spokesperson, Ravina Shamdasani, stated that the commission has not been able to attribute responsibility for the killings to any party. However, she noted that "it is clear that the Israeli army bombed and fired on Palestinians who were trying to reach the distribution points," managed by the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation."
She continued that "it was not immediately clear how many of the killings occurred at the sites of the (Gaza Humanitarian Foundation), and how many happened near the convoys."
Shamdasani, speaking to reporters, mentioned that the figures cover the period from May 27 to June 27, and "other incidents" have occurred since then. She indicated that this information is based on an internal report regarding the situation in the United Nations Human Rights Commission's office.
She added that the numbers collected through usual audits likely do not reveal the full picture, and "we may never be able to know the full extent of what is happening here due to the inability of UN teams to access" the areas.
