Injuries in Attacks by Settlers in the West Bank
SadaNews - Three citizens were injured early this Friday after being attacked and beaten by settlers, and eight others suffered from inhaling the toxic gas released by occupation soldiers during an assault on the village of Beita south of Nablus.
Local sources reported that a number of settlers attacked the home of citizen Samer Abu Zaitoun in the "Qamas" area near Mount Sabih, attempted to burn the house, and assaulted three citizens who confronted them.
The sources added that the occupation forces stormed the town and fired live ammunition extensively, as well as gas and sound bombs, resulting in eight citizens suffering from gas inhalation.
Settlers also attacked one of the citizens in the lands of the village of Jorish southeast of Nablus and stole his livestock.
Local sources reported that a group of settlers attacked citizen Zaher Dariya, a resident of Aqraba, while he was grazing his sheep in Jorish lands southeast of Nablus and stole his sheep.
Meanwhile, others cut down trees in the lands of the village of Bourin early in the morning.
Local sources reported that a group of settlers from the "Itamar" settlement established on the lands of Bourin attacked the outskirts of the village from the southern side and cut down dozens of trees in front of the Sofan family's house.
A group of settlers had attacked the Sofan family home days ago, throwing stones at it and setting up a tent in front of it.
Settlers have set up a tent near the homes of citizens in the village of Susiya, while a settler released his sheep in the area of Umm al-Khair in Massafer Yatta south of Hebron.
Activist Osama Makhamra stated that settlers set up a tent near citizens' homes in the village of Susiya, which is the second tent they have set up in the same area, as the first one set up last month was removed after residents obtained a decision to take it down.
Additionally, a settler released his sheep in the vicinity of citizens' homes in Umm al-Khair in Massafer Yatta, causing destruction to citizens' properties.
In a related context, the repeated attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers on the Arab al-Malih community northwest of Jericho have forced about 20 families to leave their homes.
The general supervisor of the Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, Hassan Malihat, stated that about 20 families out of 85 families living in the Arab al-Malih community began dismantling their tents and leaving due to the provocative actions and repeated assaults by settlers and the occupation army.
He added that all the families are threatened with displacement, with around 500 members, in the presence of a large number of settlers inside and around the community.
The Al-Baydar Organization warned in a statement that "this threatens to erase the historical and humanitarian presence of the Arab al-Malih community, and opens the door for illegal colonial expansion," issuing an urgent call to the international community, emphasizing that what is happening against the community constitutes a war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
It pointed out that what is happening in Arab al-Malih serves as a serious warning to all Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley, urging all international and human rights bodies to take urgent action, send monitoring missions to document the violations, and pressure the occupation to stop displacement plans.
Settlers had established a new colonial outpost on Wednesday near the Arab al-Malih community, just 150 meters from citizens' homes, bringing livestock and constructing pens for them and setting up tents.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, attacks by Israeli occupation forces and settlers on Palestinian Bedouin communities since October 7, 2023, have led to the forced displacement of 30 communities.
