Pentagon Criticizes Excessive Arming of Ukraine.. Trump Promises to Reorder Priorities
SadaNews - The Pentagon confirmed that the election of President Donald Trump came to protect the country's interests, and that the Biden administration had been sending weapons to Ukraine unchecked, at the expense of American needs for weapons and ammunition.
Pentagon spokesman Shawn Parnell acknowledged that under former President Joe Biden, the United States was distributing weapons thoughtlessly, stating that this changed with the arrival of current President Donald Trump.
In response to reporters' questions, "Do you think the Biden administration effectively opened the door for Ukraine and told them to take whatever they want, without monitoring the quantities of weapons transferred? Is this one of the reasons you're looking to check the stocks?" Parnell replied: "I think that during the Biden administration, we were distributing weapons and munitions for a very long time without even thinking about the quantities we had."
Parnell added: "I see that the new president has been elected so that we can put our country first and protect our homeland. Part of our job is to provide data for the president that enables him to assess the amount of ammunition we currently have and where we were sending it. This analytical process is ongoing now."
On Tuesday, Politico revealed the halt of American ammunition and arms shipments to Ukraine due to the depletion of American stockpiles. White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly confirmed to NBC the decision to suspend supplies, noting that this decision comes to prioritize American interests.
For his part, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the news of the United States halting some arms shipments to Kyiv, saying: "The fewer weapons supplied to Ukraine, the closer we are to the end of the special military operation."
