Zamir: We are conducting proactive operations in Syria
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated on Tuesday that his forces are conducting proactive operations against any threat on the Syrian front.
This was said during a field tour and assessment of the situation he conducted at the Syrian border with senior Israeli officers.
Zamir added, as translated by SadaNews, "We have been engaged in a multi-dimensional campaign for a long time, and last week we reached another peak in the campaign.. We are inflicting severe damage on all elements of the axis built by Iran against us, and now we have moved firmly against the head of this axis represented by the Iranian regime and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps."
He continued: "We must maintain high vigilance and always keep our eyes open.. Our defense in the Golan Heights is in the forward defense area, and we are carrying out proactive activities to prevent threats.. We will strike when necessary against any real or emerging threat, and we will continue to target terrorist organizations and Hezbollah," as he described.
He added: "Syria has disintegrated and is currently undergoing a transformation phase, and we control pivotal points and will continue to work across the border to protect ourselves in the best way possible."
