Palestinian Statistics: Decline in the Industrial Production Index in Palestine During March

SadaNews - The Industrial Production Index recorded a decline of 6.18% during March 2026 compared to February 2026, as the index decreased to 72.64 in March 2026 from 77.43 in February 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).

Movement of industrial production quantities at the level of main economic activities during March 2026 compared to the previous month

Manufacturing activities recorded a decrease of 7.16% during March 2026 compared to the previous month, accounting for 87.89% of total industrial activities.

As for the sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded a decline during March 2026 compared to the previous month, notably; the production of other non-metallic minerals, the production of fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment, food production, clothing manufacturing, the production of basic pharmaceutical products and their preparations, tobacco products manufacturing, wood and wood products production, paper and paper products manufacturing, and textiles.

On the other hand, the index recorded an increase in some manufacturing activities, mainly; the production of chemicals and chemical products, and printing and reproduction of recorded media.

The activities of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supplies recorded a decrease of 2.30%, accounting for 7.38% of total industrial activities.

Meanwhile, water supply activities, sewage, waste management, and treatment recorded an increase of 1.19%, which accounted for 1.84% of total industrial activities.

Mining and quarrying activities recorded an increase of 0.74%, which makes up 2.89% of total industrial activities.
