Decrease in the Industrial Production Index in Palestine

SadaNews - The Industrial Production Index recorded a decrease of 5.31% during February 2026 compared to January 2026, where the index dropped to 77.43 in February 2026 compared to 81.77 in January 2026 (base year 2019 = 100).

Movement of industrial production quantities at the level of major economic activities during February 2026 compared to the previous month

Water supply, sewage, waste management, and treatment activities recorded a decrease of 8.67%, which forms its relative importance of 1.84% of the total industrial activities.

Moreover, electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning activities recorded a decrease of 5.94%, which constitutes its relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.

Manufacturing activities recorded a decrease of 5.40% during February 2026 compared to the previous month, which constitutes its relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

As for the sub-activities that have a relatively significant impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded a decrease during February 2026 compared to the previous month, including; the production of other non-metallic minerals, the production of chemicals and chemical products, the production of tobacco products, the production of fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment, printing and reproduction of recorded media, furniture manufacturing, and clothing manufacturing.

On the other hand, the index recorded increases in some activities, most notably; the production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, food production, and textile manufacturing.

Mining and quarrying activities recorded an increase of 4.32%, which constitutes its relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.
