Ministry of Agriculture Announces Achieving Official Accreditation of Palestinian Products in the Saudi Market and Invites Exporters to Focus on Exporting Surplus Products Only
SadaNews - In a significant step towards enhancing the presence of Palestinian agricultural products in regional markets, Minister of Agriculture Professor Rizq Salimeh urged Palestinian exporters to seize the available opportunity to export to the Saudi market, following the completion of registration and accreditation procedures with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Salimeh explained that the Ministry of Agriculture, through its specialized technical departments, has completed all the technical and procedural requirements for the accreditation of Palestinian agricultural products, including the accreditation of phytosanitary certificates at Saudi crossings, after meeting the quality and standards required by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Kingdom.
He emphasized that the Saudi market represents a promising marketing opportunity for Palestinian products, especially given the short transit and supply times, which contribute to maintaining product quality and enhance the prospects of achieving profitable prices for farmers.
The minister called on exporters to initiate export procedures immediately and take advantage of this strategic opportunity to open new markets for Palestinian products, thereby supporting the resilience of farmers in light of the current challenges.
He also indicated that he has issued directives to the Jordanian-Palestinian company to start exporting processes, with the first shipment of lemon crop expected to be exported for the benefit of farmers in Qalqilya Governorate.
In conclusion, Salimeh expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, for their cooperation and facilitation of the registration and accreditation processes for Palestinian agricultural products, reflecting the depth of brotherly relations between the two countries.
