Wholesale prices of goods in Palestine record a sharp increase of 9.12% during 2025

Sharp increase in the wholesale price index of 9.12% during the year 2025

The general consumer price index for wholesale prices in Palestine recorded a sharp increase of 9.12% during the year 2025 compared to 2024, with a rate of 25.03% for locally produced and consumed goods, and 1.90% for imported goods.

The main reason for this increase is attributed to the rise in prices of goods in the wholesale trade sector excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles by 10.30%, which accounts for 89% of wholesale trade. Meanwhile, the wholesale and retail repair sector of motor vehicles and motorcycles recorded a decrease of 2.42%, which makes up 11% of wholesale trade.

The general consumer price index for wholesale prices in Palestine recorded a sharp decrease of 19.20% during the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2025, with a decrease of 37.18% for locally produced and consumed goods, and 7.52% for imported goods.

Wholesale prices of goods in the wholesale trade sector excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased by 20.66%, which constitutes 89% of wholesale trade, as wholesale prices decreased for a range of categories as follows: types of gas fuel by 74.72%, live animals by 52.80%, fish, meat, and their products by 27.84%, dairy products and eggs by 17.32%, fabrics by 17.11%, fruits and vegetables by 16.82%, types of liquid fuel by 16.30%, beverages by 15.18%, agricultural waste and refuse for use as animal feed by 9.19%, metallic and non-metallic waste and other materials for recycling by 8.63%, and the sale of construction materials, plumbing, and heating devices and supplies by 2.58%. Conversely, wholesale prices for a range of categories increased as follows: types of solid fuel by 38.38%, and animal and vegetable oils and fats by 3.14%.

The wholesale and retail repair sector of motor vehicles and motorcycles recorded a decrease of 1.25%, which makes up 11% of wholesale trade, with wholesale and retail prices for new vehicles decreasing by 2.79%.
