Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Approves the Use of Electronic Signature and Seal in Telecommunications Services
SadaNews Economy - The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced the approval of the use of electronic signatures and seals by telecommunications service providers, marking a qualitative shift towards automating procedures and enhancing digital transformation in the Palestinian telecommunications sector.
The new decision encompasses various transactions and procedures offered to subscribers, such as subscription requests and the issuance of electronic SIM cards, allowing citizens to complete their transactions electronically from a distance in a secure and reliable manner, without the need for personal attendance. The decision aims to improve service efficiency and enhance the user experience in line with global technological developments in the field of digital transactions.
In this context, the Executive Director of the Authority, Engineer Laith Draghmeh, stated that "the adoption of electronic signatures represents a strategic step in the path of digital transformation in Palestine, as it is not limited to updating work mechanisms, but also contributes to establishing trust in electronic services, facilitating citizens' lives, and accelerating service delivery with higher quality and greater security, in line with best practices and international standards."
Draghmeh emphasized that the Authority, in collaboration with sector partners, is working to expand the scope of digital services and develop its regulatory and technical infrastructure, to ensure the protection of user data and enhance the level of transparency and quality of the services provided. He pointed out that this step comes as part of the government's vision and policy to build an integrated and sustainable Palestinian digital economy that enhances the competitiveness of the sector and supports the path of national digital transformation.
