Asfour Discusses Strengthening Sustainable Job Opportunities with the World Bank
SadaNews - Minister of Industry A. Arafat Asfour met with Dr. Andrew Roberts, Senior Social Development Specialist at the World Bank, and Zakaria Sabilla, Private Sector Specialist at the World Bank, to discuss prospects for cooperation in developing the industrial sector and creating sustainable job opportunities in the West Bank.
The Minister of Industry emphasized the importance of partnership with the World Bank in implementing programs and initiatives that enhance the industrial sector's ability to reduce production costs, thereby generating decent job opportunities for youth and graduates. He stressed the ministry's commitment to developing policies that support productive and sustainable industrial investment.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the challenges facing the business and industrial environment, as well as ways to support small and medium enterprises and enhance industrial value chains to stimulate employment and economic growth through investment attraction factors.
For its part, the World Bank mission praised the ministry's efforts to promote the Palestinian industrial sector and expressed its readiness to provide the necessary support to develop initiatives that contribute to creating job opportunities and enhancing economic development in the West Bank.
