Mustafa Emphasizes the Role of the Private Sector in Engaging in Recovery and Reconstruction Efforts in Gaza

SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa emphasized the crucial and central role of the Palestinian private sector during the recovery and reconstruction phase for the Gaza Strip, pointing out that the burdens are significant and require the collective efforts of all. This came during his meeting today, Sunday, in his office in Ramallah, with the Coordinating Council of the Private Sector, which included members from the Gaza Strip via video conference, and in the presence of several ministers. The Prime Minister briefed the council members on the overall situation and the government's preparations for reconstruction and relief in the Gaza Strip, through the executive program of the Arab plan for recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of engaging the private sector in the upcoming phase. Mustafa confirmed that the plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, through the announced executive program, is complete and ready for implementation, stating: "We are proud that as soon as the announcement of the ceasefire was made, we were ready with our plan, which received international support, and we are open to any comments or contributions." The Prime Minister pointed out that work is ongoing with our Egyptian brothers to finalize preparations for a donors' conference, scheduled to be held next month in Cairo, stressing that the reconstruction must be led by Palestinians, supported by Arabs, and under international backing. Mustafa valued the Arab and international positions supporting our people and the recovery and reconstruction plan, the support of the United Nations for the Arab plan and the New York Declaration, and the various international and UN institutions that are preparing to contribute to the implementation of the recovery and reconstruction program. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for national consensus aimed at the public interest and attracting international support, affirming that the management of Gaza and the administrative arrangements will be based on national and professional foundations and strong, unified national institutions. For their part, representatives of the Coordinating Council of the Private Sector expressed their support for the executive program for recovery and reconstruction in Gaza and their readiness to cooperate with the government in working on the implementation programs on the ground to help expedite their implementation.
