Industrial Production in Palestine Records a 3.11% Increase in August 2025

SadaNews - The Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the industrial production index recorded an increase of 3.11% during August compared to the previous month of July, as the industrial production index rose to 87.58 in August compared to 84.94 in July.

The statistics office added in a statement issued today, Sunday, that activities related to water supply, sewage, waste management and treatment recorded an increase of 19.03% which forms a relative importance of 1.84% of the total industrial activities.

Additionally, the activities of electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning recorded an increase of 13.23%, which constitutes a relative importance of 7.38% of total industrial activities.

Manufacturing activities recorded an increase of 1.62% during August 2025 compared to the previous month, accounting for a relative importance of 87.89% of total industrial activities.

As for the sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities saw an increase in August compared to the previous month, notably; the production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, food production, furniture manufacturing, production of other non-metallic mineral products, textiles manufacturing, wood and wood products manufacturing, and tobacco products manufacturing.

On the other hand, the index recorded a decline in some activities, the most significant of which were; clothing manufacturing, chemicals and chemical products production, manufacturing of fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment, paper and paper products manufacturing, and rubber and plastics production.

Mining and quarrying activities also recorded a decrease of 1.30%, with a relative importance of 2.89% of total industrial activities.

The statistics office pointed out that due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, all industrial production facilities in the sector have stopped working.
