Governor of the Monetary Authority Meets with the Head of the Swiss Representation Office in Palestine
SadaNews Economy - The Governor of the Monetary Authority, Mr. Yahya Shanar, met today in his office in Ramallah with Ms. Anne-Lise Katen-Heinen, the head of the Swiss Representation Office in Palestine, along with her accompanying delegation.
The Governor briefed Ms. Heinen on the reality of the Palestinian banking sector, the latest developments, crises, and challenges it faces amidst the current conditions, and the measures being undertaken by the Monetary Authority to overcome and mitigate their impacts.
The Governor also discussed the Monetary Authority's efforts to develop banking sector operations and keep pace with global developments, especially in the field of digital transformation, as well as its role in enhancing financial inclusion and economic development.
During the meeting, prospects for joint cooperation and ways to benefit from Swiss expertise in supporting and developing the financial and banking system in Palestine were also explored.
For her part, Ms. Heinen affirmed her country's commitment to enhancing cooperation and providing technical and technological support that contributes to strengthening the Palestinian financial and economic sector.
