SadaNews followed the file from the beginning.. The Contractors Union denies the involvement of registered companies in executing projects in settlements

SadaNews - The Palestinian Contractors Union stated that it is following with astonishment and rejection the recent claims circulated through some media outlets and social media platforms, alleging the involvement of certain Palestinian construction companies in executing projects in settlements, whether they are roads, buildings, or other works.

The union denied these claims emphatically, clearly and decisively confirming that any Palestinian company registered with the Palestinian Contractors Union, and duly accredited by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, is not involved in any way in executing projects within Israeli settlements, which, according to international law and the position of the Palestinian National Authority, are considered illegal entities established on occupied Palestinian land.

The union stressed that its official records do not contain any company that executes or has contracted to execute such projects, and that any such practice represents a blatant violation of the regulations and instructions adopted, and contradicts the national and professional principles that the union adheres to.

The statement said: The Palestinian Contractors Union reserves its legal right to prosecute the promoters of these rumors through legal channels, due to their negative impact on the reputation of Palestinian construction companies, and on the status of the union as the legitimate representative of this national sector.

The union called on all media outlets and social media influencers to exercise accuracy and objectivity before publishing or circulating any information that could cause confusion and harm national interests, affirming its continued responsibility in defending the integrity of this sector and maintaining its commitment to legal and national standards.

Recently, The head of the Palestinian Contractors Union, Ahmed Al-Qadi, denied days ago to "SadaNews" the existence of a Palestinian contracting company cooperating with the Israeli government.

He said: "If it is proven that a company is cooperating with these projects, we will take our legal actions against it, and the company will be completely expelled from the Contractors Union, and repudiated from the entire contracting sector."

He added: "If there are companies working and cooperating with the occupation, they are companies not registered with us and falsely claim to be contracting companies, and they do not belong to the union or the contractors’ syndicate. However, even if they are not registered, they will be pursued legally in Palestinian courts for tarnishing the contracting sector."
