These officers affirmed that the Israeli army currently controls 67-70% of the lands in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened for weeks to expand control within the strip to about 70%.

Israel refuses to fully withdraw from Gaza and insists that its withdrawal from the surrounding area in the security zone is linked to the disarmament of Hamas.
