The National Committee for the Management of Gaza Presents the Comprehensive Recovery Program for Gaza to Donors at the Brussels Conference

SadaNews - Ali Abdul Hamid Shath, the Commissioner General of the National Committee for the Management of Gaza, participated in the Palestine Donors Group (PDG) meeting held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, with the participation of 65 international delegations and under the auspices of the European Commission.

During the meeting, Shath presented a comprehensive overview of the Comprehensive Recovery Program in the Gaza Strip (GRP), outlining the vision of the National Committee for the Management of Gaza and its plan to transition from emergency relief to early recovery and the rebuilding of essential services, ensuring effective and transparent management of total recovery efforts.

Shath emphasized that the National Committee is ready to assume its responsibilities immediately, calling on the international community to translate its political and financial commitments into practical actions and real funding that meets the urgent humanitarian and development needs of approximately 2.2 million of our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The conference resulted in the launch of the "Gaza Team" initiative, with the participation of more than 12 donor countries, alongside the European Investment Bank and the World Bank, aiming to mobilize financial resources amounting to nearly one billion US dollars to support the comprehensive recovery program in the Gaza Strip.

On the sidelines of the conference, the third official meeting of the Joint Coordination Office between the Palestinian Authority and the Peace Council was held, with the participation of Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa, the High Representative of the Council Nikolai Mladenov, Ali Abdul Hamid Shath, Bashir Al-Rais, the Commissioner of Finance in the National Committee for the Management of Gaza, Minister of Finance and Planning Estephan Salama, and Omar Awad Allah, advisor to the Prime Minister.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for joint coordination to expedite the delivery of essential services, support early relief and recovery efforts, and enhance integration between various national and international parties, contributing to improving humanitarian conditions and preparing the necessary circumstances to commence the recovery and reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip.

Participants underscored the importance of concerted national, regional, and international efforts, and the acceleration of the implementation of agreed initiatives, ensuring an effective and sustainable response to the needs of our people in the Gaza Strip during this critical phase.
