423,000 Shekels for 11 Agricultural Projects in Ramallah, Jerusalem, and Salfit
SadaNews Economy - Minister of Agriculture Rizq Salmania announced today, Wednesday, the commencement of disbursement for 11 agricultural projects in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Jerusalem, and Salfit governorates, with a total value of 423,395 shekels, as part of the second batch of the agricultural aid program funded by the European Union, following the beginning of disbursement of projects announced yesterday in the Nablus, Tulkarem, Tubas, and Qalqilya governorates.
Salmania confirmed that the ministry continues to implement the program according to the approved plan to ensure that support reaches the beneficiary farmers in various governorates of the homeland, which contributes to enhancing their steadfastness and increasing their capacity to continue agricultural production and develop their projects, through partnership with the European Union. He noted that these interventions come as part of the ministry's commitment to support the agricultural sector and empower farmers to continue investing in their lands.
He explained that the projects included in this phase varied between purchasing sheep and fodder, supporting poultry projects, supplying bee colonies and their requirements, providing agricultural equipment and machinery, and establishing productive facilities such as storage units, barns, and agricultural fences and rehabilitating them, in addition to planting fruit trees, thereby enhancing productivity and increasing the efficiency of the benefiting agricultural projects.
The projects announced for disbursement today are part of the second batch of agricultural aid program, which has a total value of 2.2 million shekels, designated to support 52 agricultural projects in various governorates of the West Bank. The ministry continues to complete the disbursement procedures for beneficiaries sequentially in the targeted governorates, ensuring that support reaches the largest possible segment of affected farmers and enhances their steadfastness and sustainability of agricultural production.
