Poll: One-third of Americans believe Israel committed genocide in Gaza

SadaNews - A new opinion poll conducted by the "Associated Press" in collaboration with the "Norc" Public Affairs Research Center has shown a sharp decline in American support for Israel, accompanied by rising criticism from Democrats and emerging signs of division among Republicans.

The poll comes at a time when the American foreign policy file, which had enjoyed bipartisan consensus, is seeing increasing polarization among Americans based on partisan and generational lines amid criticisms directed at Israel's behavior nearly three years after the outbreak of its genocidal war on Gaza.

The results of the poll indicated that nearly one-third of American adults, including almost half of Democrats, believe that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians during the Gaza war, an accusation made by some human rights organizations, which Israel and the U.S. government have vehemently denied.

Conversely, about 2 in 10 Americans said that Israel did not commit genocide, while nearly half of the poll participants reported that they lacked sufficient information to form an opinion.

The poll also showed that around 30% of American Jewish adults believe that Israel committed genocide, while 49% of them stated that it did not.

These results indicate that Americans' perceptions of Israel are undergoing a sharp change, nearly three years after the destructive Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.
