US Army announces interception of Iranian missiles and drones in the Gulf
SadaNews - The U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. forces intercepted several ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran, confirming that all attacks failed to achieve their objectives.
The Central Command stated in a statement that U.S. forces carried out strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island in response to attempted attacks launched by Tehran in recent hours.
It added that Iran launched ballistic missiles toward several neighboring countries, but was unable to hit any of its targets.
The Central Command clarified that two Iranian missiles were launched toward Kuwait, but they fell short of reaching their target or crashed during flight, resulting in no reported injuries or damages.
In Bahrain, the Central Command confirmed that U.S. forces, in cooperation with Bahraini forces, intercepted three missiles launched toward the kingdom.
It also announced the downing of three attack drones launched by Iran toward civilian sailors, as part of what it described as efforts to protect navigation and civilian personnel in the region.
No immediate comment was issued by Iranian authorities regarding the U.S. Central Command's statement, while these developments come amid rising military tensions in the region and exchanges of attacks between the United States and Iran.
