Prime Minister Directs to Intensify Monitoring Committees' Work in Official Institutions and Governorates
SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohamed Mustafa directed, during the weekly Cabinet session today, Tuesday, various competent authorities to intensify the work of monitoring committees in official institutions and governorates to protect citizens by regulating markets and ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
In this context, the Cabinet discussed reports regarding the escalation of terrorist crimes by settlers, where last week they committed 76 terrorist attacks targeting 19 Palestinian villages, resulting in injuries to 19 citizens, including 6 children. This coincided with the occupation authorities distributing more than 35 notifications for the demolition of facilities belonging to citizens in various governorates, preceded by the demolition of 6 Palestinian facilities.
The Cabinet called on the international community and all countries of the world to exert the utmost pressure on the occupation authorities to stop their plans to build thousands of illegal settlement units on Palestinian lands in the West Bank. The Cabinet confirmed that these settlements were established under illegal circumstances and lack any legitimacy under international law and international humanitarian law, representing a flagrant violation of relevant international resolutions.
The Cabinet also condemned the escalation of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which have exceeded three thousand violations, urging the international community and the guarantor states to act swiftly to compel Israel to adhere to the ceasefire and to ensure the regular and sufficient entry of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the population for essential goods and necessary services.
Additionally, the Cabinet discussed a revised version of the draft law on the right to access information; in preparation for its referral to the President soon, after making additional amendments in light of ongoing consultations over the past months with civil society organizations and relevant government institutions, with the presence of the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The Cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of the third meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Vocational and Technical Education and Training, and the executive steps to activate its programs, plans, and partnerships, including: approving the annual plan and the hundred-day plan, activating sectoral skills councils, launching the Renewable Energy Skills Council, supporting digital transformation and interlinking ministries, and enhancing national and international partnerships, among others. In this context, the Cabinet approved the addition of two members with technical competencies to the Board of Directors of the authority.
As part of the government's program for development and institutional reform, the Cabinet discussed a number of proposed legislations that a special committee is preparing to enhance governance in the transport and communications sector.
