Katz: Israeli Army Operations in Southern Lebanon Will Continue
SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that military operations in southern Lebanon will continue under all circumstances, noting that the army is considering carrying out additional operations within Lebanese territory.
He clarified that the long-term goal is to fully disarm Hezbollah, while the immediate goal focuses on dismantling weapons from the Litani area under Israeli control.
Katz added that Washington has endorsed the Israeli principle that continued attacks on northern Israel will be met with a direct response targeting the southern suburb of Beirut, and the Lebanese government has been formally informed of this.
He emphasized that the coming days will reveal whether the bombardment of the north will stop or continue; if it continues, the Israeli army will begin attacking the suburb.
He stressed that military operations in southern Lebanon are not linked to temporary circumstances but are part of a long-term strategy aimed at diminishing Hezbollah's military capabilities and ensuring Israeli control over specific areas.
