Iraqi Warns America and Israel of the Consequences of Escalation in Lebanon

SadaNews - Amid the Israeli escalation in Lebanon and the threats to target the southern suburb of Beirut, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi emphasized that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States decisively includes all fronts, including Lebanon.

Aragchi also added in a post on his X account this Monday that "any breach of the ceasefire agreement on one front is considered a breach on all fronts."

Furthermore, he held "the United States and Israel responsible for the consequences of any violation."

"Clear Evidence"

Earlier today, Iranian Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf considered that "the American naval blockade and the escalation of war crimes in Lebanon by what is described as the Zionist regime are clear evidence of the United States' non-compliance with the ceasefire."

He also warned in a post on X that every decision has a price, promising that the reckoning will eventually come, as he put it.

These Iranian positions and warnings came amidst signs of stagnation in efforts to reach an imminent U.S.-Iranian agreement to halt the war, and in the midst of Israeli escalation in Lebanon, following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement that he had ordered the military to target sites in the southern suburb of Beirut, holding Hezbollah responsible for the violations of the ceasefire that has been in place since April, which neither party has adhered to.

Since the start of talks between the Iranian and American sides in early April via Pakistan, Tehran included Lebanon within the negotiation agenda, demanding that the ceasefire encompass all fronts including the Lebanese front where Hezbollah fights in the south, exhausted after the intense Israeli strikes against it and its leaders over the past two years.
