US Army Announces Bombing of Sites in Iran
SadaNews: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Monday morning that it launched airstrikes on sites in southern Iran earlier this week.
The command stated in a statement that the strikes targeted "radars and command and control centers for drones in Goruk and the Iranian island of Qeshm."
It noted that the airstrikes were "in response to hostile Iranian actions, which included the downing of a US MQ-1 drone that was flying over international waters."
In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted an airbase used in the US attack on a communications tower in the island of Sirik in southern Iran.
Both sides exchanged strikes last week as well, with Iran targeting a US airbase after the US military carried out strikes that, according to a Washington official, targeted Iranian drones near the Strait of Hormuz.
