Iraq Raises Gasoline Production to 40 Million Liters Daily to Meet Increasing Demand

SadaNews - The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced an increase in gasoline production to 40 million liters daily to meet the rising demand, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The General Director of the Oil Products Distribution Company, affiliated with the Ministry of Oil, Hussein Taleb, stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The company has taken proactive measures to secure the strategic stockpile of oil derivatives and gas, in implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, and to prepare for periods of increased fuel demand, especially during holidays and occasions."

Taleb explained that "both improved and regular gasoline available for local consumption are produced locally," noting that "the available quantities are sufficient to meet the needs of the local market."

He added that "the company faced a noticeable increase in fuel demand during the days of Eid al-Adha due to the movement and travel of families," indicating that "the company provided additional quantities to cover the rising needs."

He pointed out that "the Oil Products Distribution Company distributes about 33 million liters of gasoline daily for local consumption," emphasizing that "the quantities provided have increased in two days to 40 million liters daily in order to meet the rising demand and ensure a smooth supply of fuel to citizens without congestion."
