Positive Negotiations in Washington.. Israel Continues Its Airstrikes in Lebanon and Hezbollah Expands Its Responses

SadaNews - Israeli forces continued their airstrikes on various areas in southern Lebanon on Saturday, while Hezbollah expanded its attacks against northern settlements. This morning, 3 Lebanese were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the vicinity of Nabatieh Hospital. Israeli forces bombarded the towns of Kfartabnit and Mefdoun, while earlier today, more than 7 villages and towns were subjected to intense aerial and artillery bombardment. The number of Lebanese martyrs has exceeded 3300 since March 2nd. According to the United Nations Children's Fund, 44 children have been reported martyred and 212 injured since the ceasefire began in Lebanon. In contrast, Hezbollah expanded its attacks against Israeli settlements, targeting Meron after midnight and other settlements. Hezbollah launched around 15 rockets towards the northern settlements, with one rocket hitting a commercial center in Kiryat Shmona, causing no injuries. A new round of negotiations took place yesterday, Friday, between the Lebanese and Israeli delegations. The United States welcomed the 'constructive' talks between the Lebanese and Israeli military delegations at the Pentagon, the first of their kind in decades. Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby stated on the 'X' platform: 'Today, I hosted military delegations from Israel and Lebanon at the Pentagon as part of the security dimension aimed at supporting the ongoing peace talks between the two countries.' He added, 'The discussions were constructive (...) and will serve as the foundation for the political dimension that will be led by the State Department next week.'
