The Cabinet Warns of the Severe and Rapid Deterioration of Humanitarian Conditions in the Gaza Strip

SadaNews - The Cabinet has warned of the severe and rapid deterioration of humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, due to the intentional reduction of food aid and the restrictions imposed by the occupation on the entry of fuel and medical supplies.

The Cabinet confirmed that the ongoing bombing and continuous forced displacement are pushing thousands of families to flee in harsh conditions lacking the bare minimum of life essentials, amidst catastrophic humanitarian and living conditions experienced by most of the population of the Strip within overcrowded shelters that do not meet the minimum requirements for a decent life. It called on the international community, the United Nations, and intermediary and guarantor parties to take urgent action to pressure the occupation to fully and sustainably open the crossings and guarantee the entry of humanitarian and medical assistance and fuel without restrictions, and to stop the policy of starvation and forced displacement against our people in the Gaza Strip.

In the West Bank, terrorist settler operations are escalating, reaching a total of 42 attacks in the past five days, targeting 12 Palestinian villages. These included setting fires, vandalizing properties, and establishing a new colonial outpost on the lands of Joris south of Nablus. Simultaneously, the occupation authorities carried out 5 demolition operations that included 10 Palestinian facilities, along with military orders to seize new lands and threats and notifications to the residents of Khan al-Ahmar regarding forced displacement and mass demolition, despite the international stance and the International Criminal Court's announcement in 2018 that the displacement of the residents of Khan al-Ahmar amounts to war crimes.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the formation of a founding board of directors for the national fuel company under formation, commissioning it to prepare the legal framework for the company and to prepare the initial financial statements, separating it from the petroleum authority's statements. The Cabinet had previously approved in its 75th session the establishment of a government fuel company aimed at enhancing investment, boosting the energy sector, organizing the market, and diversifying supply sources.

The Cabinet also adopted a memorandum of understanding between the Malaysian National Financial Oversight Authority and the Palestinian Financial and Administrative Monitoring Office regarding cooperation in the field of public sector auditing.

Additionally, the Cabinet discussed in its first reading a draft regulation on service fees for fast mail transport and distribution licenses, which contributes to organizing this field and regulating competition in a way that improves the postal services provided to citizens, expands geographical coverage, and encourages electronic payment.

Moreover, the Cabinet, based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Women's Affairs to the Ministerial Committee for Reform, adopted the re-evaluation of the roles and tasks assigned to gender units, aiming to enhance and activate their role in integrating gender issues into the plans, policies, and programs of government institutions.
