International Criminal Court Issues Arrest Warrants Against Israeli Officials

SadaNews: The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Sunday that the International Criminal Court has issued secret arrest warrants against several Israeli officials. The newspaper cited a diplomatic source stating that the court issued arrest warrants against five Israeli officials, indicating that the warrants target Israeli politicians and two military officials, with the timing of their issuance being unknown. This development adds to the previously known warrants issued in November 2024 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, according to the source. It comes amid earlier reports that prosecutors were considering prosecuting Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Previous reports revealed that the International Criminal Court conducted investigations into Israeli officials concerning cases related to settlement activities and the Gaza war. Israeli media outlets reported that this step means that member states of the court will be asked to arrest the unnamed Israeli officials.
