Ministry of Health Laboratories Achieve Outstanding Results in the 2025 External Quality Assessment Program
SadaNews: Seven laboratories from the Ministry of Health have achieved outstanding results in the External Quality Assessment Program (EQAS) for the year 2025, reflecting their commitment to applying standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in conducting laboratory tests.
The laboratories included: the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Health Directorate laboratory, the Salfit Health Directorate laboratory, the Jericho and the Jordan Valley Health Directorate laboratory, the Al-Obaidiah Health Center laboratory, the Northern Hebron Health Directorate laboratory, the Palestine Medical Complex laboratory, and the Mohammed Ali Al-Muhtaseb Hospital laboratory.
Health Minister Majid Abu Ramadan and the Deputy Minister Wael Sheikh honored the distinguished laboratories, appreciating the efforts of their technical and administrative teams and their role in enhancing the quality of laboratory services and the reliability of medical test results.
Abdul Raouf Saleem, the acting assistant undersecretary for allied medical professions at the Ministry of Health, confirmed that these results come within the ministry's ongoing efforts to elevate the quality of laboratory services and enhance the reliability of medical test results, positively reflecting on the quality of diagnosis, treatment, and health services provided to citizens.
In this context, the ministry indicated that 30 laboratories from the Ministry of Health are currently working to meet the requirements for obtaining the international quality certification (ISO 15189:2022) for medical laboratories quality and efficiency, noting that seven laboratories have already obtained this certification.
The ministry praised the efforts of the technical and administrative teams in the laboratories, and their continued commitment to developing performance and enhancing the culture of quality and safety in laboratory work.
