Axios: Iran Proposed a New Plan to End the War and Open Hormuz

SadaNews: Axios news site reported on Monday, citing an American official and two informed sources, that Iran has proposed a new plan to the United States through Pakistani intermediaries to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war.

The proposal includes postponing nuclear negotiations to a later stage, with the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports occurring first.

It is expected that U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a meeting on Monday in the operations room regarding Iran with his senior national security and foreign policy team.

Axios noted that the meeting is expected to discuss the current stalemate in negotiations with Iran and potential options for the next steps in the war.

Trump confirmed on Sunday that the Iran war will end soon and that the United States will prevail in it.

Trump stated in remarks to Fox News: "I believe that the war with Iran will end very soon, and we will come out victorious," adding, "We must prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons; they cannot have nuclear weapons."

Trump emphasized that Washington will seize Iran's "nuclear dust" as part of the negotiations.

He also pointed out that "some of the people we are dealing with now regarding Iran are very rational, while others are not."

Trump expressed hope that "Iran will be wise," adding, "If Iran wants to talk, they can contact us."
