Iraqji to Moscow.. Trump: Iran Can Call to Negotiate
SadaNews - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday as part of a diplomatic tour aimed at presenting updates on negotiations with the United States and discussing opportunities to end the war.
The Iranian ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, stated that Araghchi will provide "a report on these negotiations" to Russian officials, in addition to discussing developments related to the ceasefire and associated files. The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the visit aims to hold talks without disclosing additional details.
In contrast, U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran can call if it wants to negotiate, adding in an interview with Fox News: "If they want to talk to us, they can come to us (...) we have a phone, and we have good, secure lines."
Trump emphasized that any agreement must include preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons, considering that "it is very simple."
Hopes for reviving talks have faded after Trump canceled his envoys' visit to Islamabad amid a lack of political breakthrough, while Pakistani sources reported the withdrawal of U.S. security equipment from the capital, reflecting a decline in the chances of resuming negotiations soon.
Tehran demands the lifting of the blockade on its ports and guarantees against the recurrence of attacks, while Washington views the Iranian offer as "insufficient," with Trump stating that Iran "offered a lot, but not enough."
