SadaNews: The Suad Al-Sabah Prize for Creative Gaza Children Honors Winning Kids
SadaNews - The Dr. Suad Al-Sabah Prize for Creative Gaza Children held an award ceremony in Gaza City, honoring the winners of the prize with the participation of around 400 creative children and their mothers in an event celebrating the value of creativity in its various forms, where Kuwaiti flags were raised during the occasion.
On this occasion, Dr. Suad Al-Sabah said in a recorded speech delivered on her behalf by the director of the "Dar Suad Al-Sabah for Culture and Creativity," Ali Al-Masoudi, according to a press release from the house, "The sons of Gaza are the lamps of light in our long night, and their mothers are the heartbeat of this resilient Palestinian land; they are the true medals and the indomitable tale. Despite all the tragedies, they have managed to sow patience in the hearts of the little ones and spread love in their chests, becoming the example and the beacon."
Dr. Suad Al-Sabah added that the children of Gaza are role models as they create meaning from pain, a window of hope from wounds, and a painting from ashes after they wrote a big story with small letters and painted in colors what the maps of the world failed to depict, declaring to the universe: "We are here.. with life, we triumph."
She addressed the children of Gaza: "Hold on to your dreams, for they are a homeland that cannot be occupied, and guard your hearts, for this land remains. I tell you: This hope will grow to become glory, and you will grow to make the tomorrow more beautiful."
For her part, the supervisor of the ceremony and the prize, Dr. Alaa Al-Qatrawi, in a similar speech, thanked Dr. Suad Al-Sabah for launching the Prize for the Creative Gaza Child and for sponsoring the award distribution ceremony, indicating that Allah made her a reason for joy for every child who attended this ceremony.
Al-Qatrawi added that the Gaza Strip has gone through harsh conditions; the occupation has killed more than 20,000 Palestinian children in its war on Gaza, and Dr. Suad Al-Sabah was able today to bring smiles to the faces of both children and mothers.
The ceremony witnessed a remarkable presence and diverse performances presented by the children individually and in pairs, reflecting their talents and ability to express themselves despite the difficult circumstances amid an atmosphere adorned with the flags of Kuwait and Palestine, covering fields such as singing, Quran recitation, painting, poetry, speech, theater, memorization, and handicrafts along with volunteering initiatives.
The ceremony concluded by honoring the winners and distributing certificates in an atmosphere that expressed joy and appreciation, reinforcing the importance of creativity as a human value that transcends challenges.
It is worth noting that Dr. Suad Al-Sabah launched a new award in November 2025 that bears the name (The Gaza Child Prize), encompassing all types of creativity in any field mastered by Palestinian children, whether in literature, art, eloquence, Quran recitation, painting, or other fields of creativity, dedicating it to the age group of 6 to 14 years.
Dr. Suad Al-Sabah clarified in that announcement that (The Gaza Child Prize) "is Kuwait's gift to Palestine and a gift to the child who faced genocide for two years with the strength of men, the child who still dreams of a safe life worthy of him, the child who opens windows of hope, pressing the camera button to capture a picture of peace despite war in search of the beauty that resides in his soul."
