Hezbollah: Continuing Violations of the Ceasefire Will Be Met with Response and We Will Not Rely on a 'Failed Diplomacy'
SadaNews - Hezbollah confirmed today, Sunday, that it will not wait or rely on "failed diplomacy" that has proven its failure, nor on a "negligent" authority, stressing that Israel's continued violations of the ceasefire and its assaults will be met with response, as it is a right guaranteed by international charters.
This came in a statement issued by Hezbollah this evening, in which it stated: "Today we read the statements of the Zionist enemy's Prime Minister... Benjamin Netanyahu, who said that 'Hezbollah is the one undermining the ceasefire', and that the enemy has the right to 'freedom of action' in Lebanon 'according to the agreement with the United States of America and Lebanon'. Hezbollah, while condemning Netanyahu's remarks, warns strongly of their extreme danger in terms of trying to implicate the Lebanese authority in a bilateral agreement that occurred only between him and Washington, and in which Lebanon had no opinion or stance, and thus did not agree to it."
It mentioned that "the continued resistance targeting the gatherings of the Israeli enemy on our occupied land, and its bombardment of the enemy settlements in northern (Israel), is a legitimate response to its ongoing violations of the ceasefire since the first day of the announcement of the temporary truce, which has exceeded 500 violations on land, sea, and air, including bombardments, demolitions, and destruction of homes, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of our steadfast people."
It added that "the extension of the truce for additional weeks was supposed, according to what the Lebanese authority declared, to bring about a real ceasefire in which the enemy halts its violations and aggressions, especially its demolition and destruction of homes in the south; however, instead it intensified its aggression and assaults, confirming its criminal nature, treachery, and mockery of all international laws and charters."
Hezbollah said that "the Lebanese authority claimed that its main condition for going to its infamous meeting in Washington with the enemy was the demand to stop its aggressions and to begin withdrawing from our occupied lands; however, we did not hear from it any public and clear statement making that a condition. On the contrary, what was issued by Lebanon's representative was only praise for the American president, the partner of the enemy in the shedding of Lebanese blood, which encouraged the enemy to continue its aggressions and violations."
He considered that "the Lebanese authority has put itself in a dangerous predicament when it chose to gather in a shameful picture with representatives of an occupying entity that plunders its land and sovereignty, continues to kill its people, and pursues paths that legitimize this enemy's aggressions."
It noted that "the authority today stands silent and powerless to perform its simplest national duties towards its land and people, watching as the enemy demolishes homes and burns everything, and it is required to give a clear clarification to its people about what the enemy claims is an agreement with it that grants it freedom to aggress, destroy, and kill."
Hezbollah affirmed "clearly and decisively that the enemy's continued violations of the ceasefire, its aggressions of bombardments, uprooting, and destruction of homes or targeting of civilians, and above all, its continuation of occupying Lebanese lands and its violations of its sovereignty, will be met with response and resistance that are present and ready to defend their land and people, which is a right guaranteed by international charters."
It emphasized that "it will not wait or rely on a failed diplomacy that has proven its failure, nor on an authority negligent in protecting its homeland, as the people of this land are the real guarantee in facing this aggression and repelling the occupation," as it described.
