OIC Condemns Israeli Occupation's Approval for a Jewish School in Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood of Jerusalem

SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to approve the establishment of a Jewish school in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem. This decision is part of a policy of Judaization aimed at changing the demographic, geographic, cultural, and historical character of the city and erasing its Arab identity, igniting a religious conflict whose dangerous repercussions on the region and the world are unpredictable.

It also warned of the dangers of the continuation of the occupation's policies based on settlement, displacement, property confiscation, and demolition, as well as attempts to change the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, in a blatant violation of the principles of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The OIC reiterated that Israel, as an occupying power, has no sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites, calling on the international community to take necessary measures to pressure the Israeli occupation to halt all these illegal actions and ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sacred places.
