Arrest of Two Israeli Soldiers on Charges of Spying for Iran
SadaNews Translation - The Israeli military prosecution presented an indictment on Thursday against two soldiers who work as technicians in the air force on charges of spying for Iran.
According to a joint statement from the Israeli army and the Shin Bet, the soldiers were investigated for committing security offenses on behalf of Iranian intelligence entities, as SadaNews translated.
The statement noted that the two soldiers were arrested last March.
One soldier was accused of assisting the "enemy" in war and providing information, while the other was charged with delivering information and other offenses.
Both claimed during their investigation that communication with the Iranian operators ceased after they refused to carry out tasks related to weapons.
However, even after initiating the communication cut from the operator's side, they did not stop attempting to resume contact for financial gain.
According to the indictment, for several months, the two soldiers were in contact with Iranian intelligence entities and carried out various missions under their guidance in exchange for money.
