Trump: Israel Will Not Bomb Lebanon Anymore.. America Will Prevent It

SadaNews - President Donald Trump said on Friday that Israel will not bomb Lebanon anymore, emphasizing that "America will prevent Israel from bombing Lebanon."

He added in a post on "Truth Social" that America will work separately regarding Lebanon, confirming that Washington is dealing with the situation of Hezbollah appropriately.

The U.S. president also denied any connection between the negotiations with Iran and the Lebanon file, as well as denying the release of funds to Iran in exchange for uranium handover.

In his post, the U.S. president wrote: "The United States of America will get all the nuclear "dust" resulting from our great B2 bombers - and no money will be exchanged in any way. This deal is in no way connected to Lebanon, but the United States will work separately with Lebanon and will deal with the situation of Hezbollah appropriately. Israel will not bombard Lebanon anymore. The United States of America is preventing it. Enough!".

Thousands of Lebanese started returning to their homes in the south of the country and the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday, as the main roads were filled with traffic following the implementation of the ceasefire with Israel, which lasts for 10 days, that took effect at midnight Thursday.

The toll of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since March 2 until Thursday has risen to 2,196 dead and 7,185 injured, according to a statement from the Lebanese Public Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center.

The Israeli attacks came in response to Hezbollah's shelling of northern Israel following the outbreak of the war waged by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran on February 28.

Israeli forces occupied areas in southern Lebanon and vowed to continue controlling the region extending to the Litani River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea about 30 kilometers north of Israel's borders, and ordered residents to leave the area south of the Litani during the war.

Israeli forces destroyed towns and villages in the region and stated that the aim was to establish a "buffer zone" to protect towns in northern Israel from Hezbollah attacks.

The Israeli military campaign against Lebanon posed a major obstacle to reaching an agreement to end the war that President Donald Trump is seeking with Iran.

Trump told reporters after announcing the ceasefire that Lebanon and Israel will work to reach a long-term agreement and noted that Lebanon agreed to "address the issue of Hezbollah."

Trump said he would invite Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to the White House for "serious discussions" between the two countries, which have technically been at war since Israel's establishment in 1948.
