Netanyahu: We Are Facing an Opportunity for a Historic Peace Agreement with Lebanon
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Thursday evening that Israel is facing a historic opportunity to reach a peace agreement with Lebanon.
He added in a video recording, as translated by SadaNews, that the opportunity exists because since the War of Independence, we have changed the balance of security.
He continued: This balance has changed in a way that has led us to receive invitations from Lebanon last month for direct peace talks between us and them, which is something that hasn't happened in over 40 years.
He added: We will remain in a buffer zone of 10 kilometers deep, which will allow us to prevent incursions into settlements and fire from anti-tank weapons.
He noted that U.S. President Donald Trump will invite him and the Lebanese President to Washington to push for a peace agreement.
Regarding Iran, Netanyahu stated that Trump told him he is committed to continuing the maritime blockade on Iran.
